Privacy Policy

1. Purpose

Leisure and Recreation Group (L+R Group) is committed to protecting personal information while delivering quality services. This policy outlines our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) regarding the collection, use, storage, and disposal of personal information.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all departments and workplaces under the control of L+R Group, including subcontractors, contractors, employees, and visitors.

3. Employer Exemptions

While the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) exempts employers from certain requirements relating to employee records, L+R Group remains committed to responsible personal data management. We ensure the privacy of employees and all individuals is respected at all times.

4. Collection of Personal + Customer Information

We may collect personal information for the purposes of recruitment, employment, memberships, programs, and business administration. This may include:

  • Employment details, training, and disciplinary actions

  • Personal and emergency contact details

  • Performance and conduct records

  • Salary, leave records, and tax details

  • Memberships, qualifications, and clearance checks

  • Active L+R customer enrolment and membership details

L+R Group takes reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information collected is accurate, up-to-date, secure, and relevant.

5. Employee Responsibilities

Employees are responsible for:

  • Handling personal information with care and protecting it from unauthorised disclosure

  • Using confidential information strictly for legitimate business purposes

  • Maintaining confidentiality even after employment ends

A breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the L+R Disciplinary Procedure.

6. Active L&R App

The Active L+R app is your own self managed personal portal for access within the Leisure and Recreation Group. This app will help simplify booking and buying at your local centre. Simply enter your centre’s name or app code to connect to your centre.

The Active L+R app allows access to:

  • Book weekly swim lessons

  • Book squad classes

  • Book group fitness class

  • Purchase a visit pass

  • Purchase a membership

  • Check your schedules

  • Manage your account

7. Breach of Policy – Warning System

If a breach of this policy occurs, the following progressive warning system will apply:

  • First Offense (Verbal Warning): The employee will receive a verbal warning outlining the breach and corrective actions.

  • Second Offense (Formal TANDA Warning): A formal written warning will be issued via the TANDA system, detailing the breach and expectations moving forward.

  • Third Offense (Final Warning): A final written warning will be issued, with clear notification that further non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of employment.

* Concession pricing applies to valid cardholders under the L+R Groups Policy.

** Family memberships cover up to 5 members listed on the same Medicare Card. Additional fees apply for extra children.

Memberships provide seasonal access while the pool is open (Kempsey McElhone Swimming Complex is closed during June and July).
